I typically run mine at 1/4 of the ALC scale on the Icom 73. RTTY AFSK is like PSK31, you will need to be mindful of the ALC level. You can do most things with just the USB cable, but the CI-V cable comes in very handy and is inexpensive.Ī note about Easy RTTY (AFSK): By using RTTY AFSK you do not need an extra port for FSK keying, thus making it easier to operate Fldigi RTTY AFSK when you are using a radio like the Icom 7300. So on the Icom 7300 I typically have connected a USB cable and also the CI-V cable. This cable plugs into a USB port on your computer and the other end goes into the “Remote” jack on the back of the radio. When finished setting it up you will have the basics for getting started.Ī note about RigCAT: I am using my COM 12 which is the CI-V cable. When finished with the initial setup, visit the sections (photos above) and enter them into your installation. The first time you open it you will be guided to add information, some of which is shown in the photos above.
Using fldigi with ic7300 install#
Install it as you would any Windows program (other OS available). If you haven’t installed Fldigi, the download is here. Configure yours as seen in the photos above. If you have Fldigi installed and you are using it, this will be easy. Then click your back button to return here. Fldigi Setup Easy RTTY (AFSK) PSK31 & CWĬlick near the top of the image to enlarge. In Configuration, go to Fldigi under Applications and uncheck the box to start Fldigi on startup. NOTE: There is no need to start the Fldigi service in Log4OM.

Using fldigi with ic7300 how to#
If you have been using FT8, JS8Call or PSK31 you’ll know how to setup your radio. The internal settings of your radio need to be setup for digital mode operation. The Icom 7300 I have in my camper worked FB while traveling and this post will cover setting up it, the Icom 7610 and just about any other radio. The Icom 7610 Fldigi, Log4OM, WSJT-X, GT and now add Fldigi to the mix for Easy RTTY (AFSK), PSK31 and CW. I had a wonderful time in Arizona and New Mexico, but it’s good to be back home and using the Icom 7610.
